Medmont Donates $15K to the CLMA
Monday, November 16, 2015
Medmont International Pty Ltd (Medmont) is pleased to announce the donation of $15,000 USD to the Contact Lens Manufacturers Association (CLMA).
Bob Heavyside, President of Medmont was quoted as saying, “We are very pleased to be able to make this donation to the CLMA, especially at a time when the CLMA needed it the most. Considering the proud 54 year history of the CLMA it is an honour to be able to provide our contribution and to be a part of this great institution.”
Due to a recent shake up within the industry and the dropping out of two key sponsors, the association was faced with a potential $150,000 short fall in contributions. Considering the CMLA also funds the GP Lens Institute (GPLI), a key educator to GP Specialists, the loss of these funds would have had a major impact on the association and its members. Medmont, along with other CLMA labs, have come together in a show of support for the CMLA and donated the funds that were needed.
Mr. Heavyside went on to say, “The nonstop support that Medmont has received from every Lens Manufacturer and GP Specialist in the USA made this a very easy decision for us. We hope we can provide support for the foreseeable future.”
